Second night of work (holiday) and I’ve been a busy bee.

When I finished work on Wednesday morning I got home to be greeted by a Peugeot 308cc waiting to be cleaned. It’s the friend’s of a neighbour’s across the road. No pictures of the Peugeot (it was only a wash, seal and interior clean) as another neighbour came over with her three year old daughter saying to her daughter “shall we ask this nice man who likes cleaning cars if he’ll clean ours?”, naturally I said yes and asked for the car keys.

The car, a late 2006 Ford Mondeo estate has been used as a family runabout for my neighbour and three very young children. The car was a bit of a horror as there was sweets, biscuits, crayons, etc... littering the car. I said I’d need four hours for the inside alone but I will do the exterior straight away to give me a head start for the next day, but me being me thought, ‘well I’ve done the outside, I’ll make a start and vacuum the inside’, job done I then thought ‘well I’ve vacuumed I may as well scrub and wet vacuum the rear seats so they will be dry for the next day’, job done I thought ‘well the rear seats are done I’ll do the rear footwell’, this went on till before I knew it, it was all done. Three and a half hours total, nothing fancy for the exterior other than a wash and wipe dry (the car is being sold today (Friday) for a Vauxhall Zafira B as the Mondeo had 20 advisories and fails on it’s MOT test (annual inspection) costing £400 to put right.

Picture taken today (Thursday) after cleaning a couple of other cars.

Today was the turn of a colleagues Fiat Grande Punto, but as they didn’t turn up or call I went on with the next car. A well looked after 2004 VW Golf 1.9 diesel.

The owner though always looking after her car just didn’t have time to give it the attention she wanted to give the car and making it look good ready for the summer. So after a snow foam and a 2BM wash, de-tarred, fallout remover to remove contamination and rewashed I was left with two buckets (now baring in mind the snow foam took off most of the debris).

Wash bucket.

Rinse bucket.

Kinja'd!!!

Shocking.

While wet I sprayed Gyeon Wetcoat on the car body and glass, wiped in and pressure washed off, then after sheeting off most of the water with an open ended hose I went over the car with Gyeon Cure as a drying aid.

Some finished shots.

Another neighbour’s VW Eos needed a quick wash to remove some bird bombs and just tidy it up a little.

Tomorrow or rather today (Friday) as it’s 2am here will bring me a neighbour’s Peugeot 206 and no doubt another car or two.

But I’ve also got some laundry to do as I’m running low on cloths.

Kinja'd!!!

Two weeks off of work, beautiful weather, plenty of Guinness and Irn Bru = amazing times.
